(Picea omorika)
Native to Serbia, this species of spruce is known for its attractive foliage and tall columnar form. Popular in landscaping, it is a unique choice for a specimen tree for parks and lawns or as a hedgerow tree. Its cones are a deep purple colour and needle-like leaves have a conspicuous white stripes beneath. Like other spruces it enjoys full to partial sun, and moist well drained soil, and Serbian spruce in particular tolerates alkaline soil and drier conditions.
Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. It can benefit from 30 - 90 days of cold treatment, but is not necessary. Sow 1-2cm deep in moist sterile potting mix.
Packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
