Jeffrey pine is native to the west coast of North America and named after the botanist John Jeffrey. It tolerates a variety of conditions and grows well in coastal British Columbia where the climate is mild. Similar to Ponderosa pine, it is known for its cones that have inward-pointing barbs. Leaves are needle-like, grey-green and 12-30cm long in groups of three.  Cones are 12-30cm long, egg-shaped and light brown when ripe. Jeffrey pine is particularly known for its aromatic resin that smells like vanilla, 

Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 60 days. Plant 1-2cm deep in sterile potting mix.
