Japanese red pine is native to east Asia and is a very common tree in its range. It has dark green needles in pairs of two, approximately 5-10cm long and grows to 30m in height. A popular bonsai tree, its versatile growth habit makes it suitable for a wide range of conditions.
Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 30 days. Plant 1-2cm deep in sterile potting mix.
