Named for its pink and magenta flowers in springtime, this is a small sized deciduous tree that is a popular ornamental. It grows up to 10m tall and has a broad crown. Commonly grown in parks and gardens due to ease of maintenance. It has green, heart-shaped leaves and produces legume-shaped seedpods in the fall.
Germination: Soak in hot tap water and let sit for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 60 days and plant 1cm deep in a seed bed. Keep soil moist.
