(Pinus durangensis)
Durango pine is a relative of the Ponderosa pine, native to Mexico in the region for which it is named and enjoys temperate climates. It has needles in bundles of 5 to 7 (occasionally 8) which is very unusual for pines. Like most pines it prefers well-drained, sandy soil with full sunlight.
Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 60 days. Plant 1-2cm deep in sterile potting mix.
