Cucumber magnolia, also known as Cucumber-tree, is a type of magnolia tree, rare to Canada, native to the extreme southern Ontario region. So-called for its fruits, it produces a long green cucumber-shaped fruit with many seeds. Its yellow-orange flowers in the summer are a good decorative feature that makes it attractive as a specimen tree.
Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 120 days. Plant in moist potting soil.
