(Phaseolus vulgaris)
Characteristics: An old Dutch variety of bean for boiling or baking. Can be eaten fresh like green beans as well. Prefers warm temperature for flowering and germination. Expect plants 15-20" tall.
Germination: 7-10 days days at 20-25C. Sow in warm soil, with good drainage.
Harvest: 90 days for mature pods. Pick pods when they are hard, light and beans rattle in the pod. Shell the pods and store or use the dry beans as desired.
