(Pinus pinea)
Stone pine, also known as Italian stone pine is native to the Mediterranean region. It is known for its umbrella-shaped form and growth habit. Its green needles are in pairs of two, 10-25cm long. Cones are broadly round, egg-shaped, dark red-brown and take 36 months to mature. Used as an ornamental tree and can grow in milder climates like in coastal British Columbia.
Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Sow 1-2cm deep in sterile potting mix.
Packet contains at least 25 seeds.
