Pecan trees are a member of the hickory family which produce an edible nut that is highly flavorful. A large deciduous tree which grows 20-40m tall, it has compound leaves that are pinnate, with 9-17 leaflets about 5-10cm long. The name comes from Algonquin language, pecan meaning hickory and various nuts.
Germination: Cold stratify for 6-8 weeks in peat moss. Plant in a warm sunny location.
Packet contains at least 10 seeds.
