The Hickan is a unique hybrid between the pecan and hickory tree. This is a southern hybrid between water hickory and pecan, hardy to zone 7. Known to be a fast-growing species, the water hickory combined with the larger nut size of the pecan makes for an interesting hybrid tree. The seeds however, have a bitter taste unlike pecan.
