(Abies magnifica)
Red fir is a conifer native to California with an attractive green-blue foliage. This large evergreen can grow up to 60 meters with a trunk diameter over 2m in diameter in favourable conditions. Its large yellow-green cones and dark red bark in older trees give it a unique aesthetic. Hardy to USDA zone 6.
Germination instructions: Soak in water for 24 hours, then cold stratify for 30 days at 4 degrees C. Sow in moist soil 1-2cm deep after stratification is complete.
