Lavandula angustifolia is a flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae, native to the Pyrenees and other mountains in northern Spain and the western Mediterranean region. A versatile perennial and great addition to the garden. The evergreen shrubs grow to 4 ' tall at a slow rate. Hardy to zone 5. Flowers from July to September, and seeds are mature in August to October.

Germination: Soak in cold water, let stand for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 30 days. Sow seed 1/16" deep, tamping the soil and mulching the seed bed. Requires warm temperatures after sowing to germinate (24 deg C).
