Cornelian cherry is actually a type of dogwood species that is native to Europe and Asia and produces edible red berries. A small tree reaching heights of 5-10 meters, it has bright yellow-hued flowers in the springtime that develop into fruits, which are dark ruby red resembling elongated cherries. The fruits are drupes and consist of one seed. This tree has long been popular popular in gardens and parks, and fulfills an ornamental role as well as provides food for humans or wildlife. Cornelian cherry is known to adapt to a wide variety of soil types and can grow in partial shade.

Germination: Soak in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 90 days and plant in a moist potting soil mix.
