(Malus pumila)

A small sized tree that produces an edible fleshy fruit in the autumn, the apple tree is well-known in cultivation. Thought to have originated in central Asia, apple trees are planted and can thrive in most areas in Canada which are not extremely cold. Apples have serrated green leaves alternately arranged on the branch with a hairy texture on the underside. Trunk is grey to brown, with a smooth appearance growing furrowed as it ages. In the autumn, the fruits ripen and become sweeter and lower in acidity, often a bright red colour. Apples are enjoyed by humans and wildlife species such as bears, deer, squirrels and birds.

Germination: Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Cold stratify for 60 days. Plant 1-2cm deep in moist soil substrate.

Packet contains 50+ seeds.
